GoogleI had a counselor for 10 weeks who was helpful. She told me that I could return after the end of the fiscal year for another 10 visits. But when I did, I was informed that I could only have 1 or maybe a few sessions at the most, so I declined. Then I went back later and was told that I could have 10 but not more. Seems kinda abusive, right? The staff are good. They are attentive, polite, cordial, knowledgeable and personable. But management overshadows all that with ruthless decisions, like the abusers that create this business. And discussing issues with management is like talking with a warden of a prison, not the coordinator of a rehab.

GoogleI stayed here from September 2025 to the beginning of November 2025. I was in a small house (Sojourner) over on Meadowlark Street in Livermore, CA. I was repeatedly given write-ups on their three warning system off of false accusations. Because multiple people who did not like me lied or even exaggerated at times, they often just believed it. I was woken up early in the morning for my weekly “meeting” with the case manager, and from there, I was told I had to leave within two hours. I was given two days in a motel, then just left for dead (cold, rain, etc.). The funny bit is, that I was one of the only residents there who actually experienced a domestic/family violence issue in the past 6 months. Most of them hadn’t even went through a direct issue for over a year even two according to these residents own accounts. On top of that, most of them-each of us given six months without messy people intervening- expressed not wanting to work. Singles (females) were piled in to a three bunk (6 person room) and only families got an individual room, even if they didn’t fill the whole room up; they could have paired certain demographics up. The worst part is, I even went through proper channels to report all their abuse, and still nothing was done. They even ruined my ability to keep the jobs I recently held (location based) that I centered around being in their program and at that location. 👀 So, not even a job for me, because I need an address-not a motel or hotel-to get a job, plus stability in it to keep one. Now, here I am a few months later, still displaced. 😕

GoogleTri Valley Haven is an awesome nonprofit organization. They offer multiple beneficial services in our area to anyone who faces serious issues such as a need for shelter, permanent supportive housing, food insecurity, legal services and counseling. Their employees are hard working and compassionate. I participated in their annual pace for peace program and loved their warm and welcoming attitude that they had for each and every participant. Overall a great organization, would highly recommend!

GoogleOnly was able to make it through roughly a month . The task they ask you do especially when you’re from a new county are pretty stressful . Having two young kids definitely can make staying at a place like this very challenging . I’ve made reports on a family whose children were harming mine & as soon as they lied on me it was stated on my exiting papers that I had hit someone in the shelter . I did overreact only because Maureen had threw her folder / notebook right in front of my son in the middle of our case management . Then kicked me and my family out because I was acting “aggressively” but given the circumstances it was bound to happen . I wish things would’ve went different but it is what it is . They threaten you with cps & say so many scary things . Not sure if this program is pro black . Be aware !!!
