To Skechers Corporate Leadership: I am writing to formally document an extremely disappointing experience at the Skechers Outlet in Livermore. During a recent visit (Saturday, Jan 24, 2026), I intended to purchase shoes for my mother and son during a BOGO promotion and presented a SkechersDirect 30% employee discount flyer, which clearly states it applies to work and casual shoes and is valid at Skechers retail stores and online. While it was understandable that the 30% discount and the BOGO would not stack, the store manager arbitrarily denied the discount even if I were to buy just 1 pair (my mother’s shoes), claiming they were “too shiny” and therefore not appropriate for work, and that only I as the employee availing the discount, can use it for shoes I would buy for myself. When I presented a visually similar, slightly different, non-shiny pair of shoes, that was supposedly ok, but still not something I could get a discount on, as it wasn't for myself. When I asked whether eligibility was based on discretion, the manager stated she was “just the messenger.” I was also told the discount could not be applied to my son’s shoes because “kids don’t work.” I also got given some sort of talk about how the discount is supposed to work, and what sort of shoes it should apply to, given it's something my employer would want me to buy for work. At no point does the flyer limit eligibility to the employee personally, exclude family members, or authorize store staff to determine what is “work-appropriate.” Furthermore, SkechersDirect's website lists similar shoes as eligible for the employee discount, highlighting the inconsistency of the in-store decision. This experience was dismissive, unprofessional, and inconsistent with Skechers’ stated policies. Arbitrary enforcement and subjective judgment by frontline staff undermine customer trust and reflect poorly on the brand. I left the store without making a purchase, and I won't be shopping at this location in the future. I urge corporate leadership to review this store’s management practices and ensure that employee discount programs are applied fairly, transparently, and consistently. Customers should never be subject to arbitrary restrictions or judgmental behavior regarding a clearly stated promotion.

Horrible customer service experience. The lady at the counter was pretty rude, and had zero empathy towards how they treat customers. I have been to many Skechers stores and never felt so bad during interactions. We purchased 4 shows worth $175 and when presented over the valid coupons (email: 5% off and via simon app: 10% off over $100), the lady blankly refused to see or consider any coupons. When we said we can sign-up with new email, she said it has to be new email AND new phone, and she is going to check whether those are legit, before even proceeding. Later she started behaving as if we are wasting time. Thanks for the horribly awesome experience, we are done with Skechers.. I'm never going to this store OR brand now!

Placed an online order- they were too lazy to process it, when I showed up to the store still couldn’t process it while the item is right there!! and asked me to cancel the order and get the same item from the shelf and pay for it.. oh well we cannot apply the online discount if you want you can place to the order online again!! LOL.. stupidity at it’s finest…

I was at the Sketchers store in the kids section, to buy my child shoes and after paying the manager, whiIe was at the door stated that I left two of the papers on accident and expected me to put the tissue into the shoe, she stated “You created a big mess and we try to keep our store clean” shaming me for not putting it the way a worker would put shoes back. She said this right after I purchased and treated me horribly saying that we have the right to tell you. I went back to the counter and said I didn’t like how she spoke to me with rude customer service they expect that the customers to put the shoes back in the way the workers are trained too. The workers said that she was the senior manager and that they have the right to say these things to me without any respect, while I had good intentions. I’m honestly so disappointed because of sketchers being my favorite store to shop and shopping there I was brought with hostility. Also assuming that I did not speak English in a mocking tone before lecturing me. Will not be coming back

They have the exact pair of shoes that I ever love at Skechers. Same design same line, but… same price(?). It’s disappointing that their price is not lower since this is 2 year old design and it’s an outlet store, but I guess popular ones would never have discount. I’m just glad to find a replacement because I bought mine 2 years ago in Canada. Got some discount BOGO50% for the second pair for my son, and 10% for new membership signup.
